BCLR Music Ministry Teams
Choir
The BCLR Choir is a mixed, large ensemble that sings most Sundays during the Fall and Spring, assists in leading and bolstering the congregational singing at the Bible Church of Little Rock, and presents various anthems that help direct our focus to God and His Word and to meditate more deeply upon its truth. In addition, the choir leads in presenting annual Christmas and Good Friday/Easter celebrations. The group rehearses most Sunday afternoons at 4:30 p.m. and is open to any BCLR member (men, women, students). It is helpful to have a basic knowledge or be able to read music but not required. No audition is required.
Instrumentals
Instrumental music also plays a prominent role in our corporate worship. As a counterpart to our vocal groups, we are thankful for skilled musicians that accompany many anthems as well as much of our congregational singing. The BCLR orchestra meets regularly in the Fall and Spring and rehearses most 1st and 3rd Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 PM. Any BCLR member (adult or student) with a degree of proficiency on any instrument (rhythm/strings/brass/winds/percussion) is encouraged and welcomed to participate.
Vocal Ensembles
Occasionally, smaller ensembles and groups of singers are utilized in our corporate assembles throughout the year and on special occasions (e.g. ladies’/men’s ensemble, Poiema, Sunday vocal teams, trios, etc.). With similar focus and intent as the choir, these smaller, select groups present a variety of anthems, ranging in musical style, as a contribution to our musical vocabulary at the Bible Church of Little Rock. Rehearsals vary.
Servants and Singers
Servants and Singers is a vocal ensemble for children of the Bible Church of Little Rock, 1st – 6th grade. The group rehearses most Wednesdays from 5:45-6:25 PM prior to the start of Awana. Children will learn basic music notation and theory, vocal and rhythm skills, and sing periodically throughout the Fall and Spring during our corporate assemblies. The ensemble is led by Christine Franklin and parents are encouraged to enroll their children.
AVL
Each Sunday, our audio, video, and lighting team plays a vital role in making our corporate assemblies what they are. This remarkable group of volunteers engineers and mixes our audio feed, provides projection of song lyrics and sermon outlines, operates cameras and lighting, and ensures that the livestream of Sunday’s service is operational. Previous IT or AVL experience is helpful but not required. We provide training for each element and you will also have the opportunity to shadow a member of our team before flying solo. So, if you enjoy working or serving behind the scenes, please contact us to become a member of our AVL team.
