2023 Honduras Mission Trip
June 17-24

The Elders have approved a short term mission trip to Honduras June 17-24, 2023. We would love for you to apply! Further questions can be emailed to Douglas Allison at sm@bclr.org.

Key Questions

why honduras?

What will we do?

We have developed a fruitful relationship with the church and ministry over the last few years, including benefiting from the ministries of the Montoya and Zelaya families at BCLR! They are doing faithful ministry there which we want to encourage and support.

who should apply?

This trip is intended to be a mix of students and adults. Current students 9th grade and above may apply. The team size is limited to 15 people in total. The greatest needs for team members are a willingness and ability to work hard, be flexible and show the love of Christ to the lost and hurting.

when are applications due?

Applications are due September 7, 2022.

Where will we stay?

We will stay in the facility that Carlos helps to direct near the church called MEDA (Evangelical Ministries of the Americas). It is a gated retreat area with a mess hall and other facilities which functions as a seminary campus for pastors from all over Latin America.

What does it cost?

The total cost per team member is approximately $1500. This is a current best estimate. Fundraising is encouraged. The team will work together to put on fundraisers as time allows.
The work will likely vary, but most likely we will do a balance of ministry and work projects. We will likely have some ministry like a VBS for children in a local church or churches. We will also likely do some sort of work project like work on the medical clinic or church building.

Do I need a passport?

Yes, you do need a passport to travel to Honduras. If you do not have a passport and desire to participate in this trip, now is the time to apply! Minors also must meet certain paperwork requirements to travel to Honduras without both parents. We will make the appropriate paperwork available to parents as students join the team.

Do i need to be able to speak spanish?

No, you do not have to speak Spanish in order to go. But it is a plus! The team will have interpreters traveling with them in order to facilitate communication.
